I am from Antigua. My grandmother was from Cheshire and was a fantastic cook, and my mother has owned a restaurant in Antigua and Barbuda for over 30 years, so I am blessed with influence from the Caribbean and the North of England.
An all-day breakfast and brunch bistro on the first floor of Oxford Street in Harrogate. Caribbean and Italian home cooking meets a proper Yorkshire fry-up, in a room full of curiosities. From Lise and Fabrizio.
We both have different backgrounds. Fabrizio is Italian and was blessed with a mother who loved to cook, so he was brought up with good home cooking. He makes a good Bolognese sauce and arancini just like mama.
The coffee gets talked about as much as the breakfast, and tea comes with its own little sand timer so you pour at just the right moment. There is a new drinks list too: a Baileys and Kahlua latte, an Irish coffee, a White Russian, and the Caribbean smile, espresso with aged cavalier rum and Jamaican rum cream, topped with cream.

You will find us through a doorway on Oxford Street and up the stairs, in a first floor room above the Yorkshire Farmers butcher, with mismatched chairs, scrubbed pine tables and pans and saddles hanging overhead. Fresh ingredients, cooked with love, that is it really.

Lise and the team come up in review after review: attentive, welcoming hosts who make the room feel more like a friend's home than a restaurant.
The breakfasts get mentioned constantly: thick cut bacon, properly poached eggs, creamy hollandaise, and coffee that more than one visitor calls the best they have had.
People love spotting the little door on the street, climbing the stairs and finding a room packed with curiosities. Most agree you should book ahead.
